Good morning!
Been a busy night with a couple of new videos out with interviews and new gameplay from both BF1943 and BC2!
Battlefield 1943 with Gordon Van Dyke
(thx for the credit Gordon =)
Bad Company 2 with Patrick bach

I like the destruction and the cover demolish! The weapons seems to do more damage, and that is awesome! The tank looked slow, but maybe he did not accelerated enought. New knife animation, but same old crappy gun reload animations…man! fix them already! Lot’s of good and not so good stuff showed here.
And come on! XM8 has it’s own original red-dot scope! Why not use it??? There also was a semi-automatic QBU-88 sniper rifle with a red-dot! If all of the sniper rifles are also customisible, then that is going to be soo cool!
BF1943. Wow it looks mutch differently than the trailer! The planes can go pretty high! Cool! The Type-100 SMG looks that it has good power, I’m happy with that, and it looks that you need to reload more. (SMG has real ammo capacity?) If the weapons have real ammo capacity, then it is another plus to this game! The reloading animation was perfect! Reasonably fast with no unnesesary movements! The Sherman was looking fast (faster than the BC tanks?) The real M4 Sherman can go 40km/h! That is fast for a WW2 tank! Cool! I wonder how many hitpoints it has? Are the tanks have the same problems like in BC? (Too unreliable, not safe, and useless in close cobat?) The players should respect the mighty tank! Hmm, what else… Oh! He said there will be a demo! I will definatly Download it and give you feedback on your and you team’s work!
For now I will rate this game 7/10 (I have some unanswered questions)
Well if bf3 is in the pipeline – and bf:bc 2 looks awesome – bf3 is guna rock!
BFBC2 in this video has stirred alot of cod gamers aswell.
It really looks like hardcore type of game now, i have been playing dice games since u invented Codename Eagle – even still – i played an old pinball type game – well before then too!
For following DICE for years its really nice to see things changing and trying new things for the future gamers!
Now, i have 1 question for bf1943 and bfbc2 – please take out that grain filter – never use it again.. i suspect it was a AA/GFX problem that was covered with that film grain?
anyways.. Gustav – keep it up and thanks for designing coral sea.. next – karkand with destruction LOL!
The grain filter is not as in BC1 I can tell you that at least.
I didnt like it myself in BC1 and I am the one thats been fixing those things in BF1943 =)
Great fucking news TBH!
What is grain filter by the way?
It a post process filter that is used to create a more “rough” feeling in the game.
Makes the game look much better with the right settings, seem like most games has some similiar today. But I do like it how we use it, I wouldnt go without it.
But it shouldnt be to visible for the player, it’s a balance board to tweak it =)
thanks for clearing that grain filter question up, i always wondered what it was for.. but could never get anyone to tell me
Anyways – so what other games have you built or designed from the past ?
What is your favourite bf game ?
I have been working at DICE for a little over 2.5 year so havent had time to design to much =)
The only thing I worked on that have been released is the four conquest mappacks for bad company one. Then I have worked on some other projects before BF1943 =)
But I did play in the pro-leagues in both BF1942 and BF2 and was in some of the best ranked clans in the world.
I must say that BF1942 is the game that got me into the battlefield world and will always have a place in my heart but gameplay wise BF2 is the best one for me!
Yes i think Bf2 is the best game (FPS) of all time. (pc )
Bought i day one – still got a bf2 clan today lol.. from 2005!!!
Can;t beat that game for t bag HAHAH!
Very inspirational post! Thank you!
Great blog, thanks a lot for the awesome posts!
