I would buy the reciever as a seperate piece from the speakers. Pioneer or Sony are very good. I picked up Sony 820 receiver it has 4 HDMI inputs and decodes the HD audio fomats. I am using JBL 5.1 speakers and since its a medium sized room there is no need for an amp. I have a Sony telly so it syncronized nicely with receiver. I now have the 360, PS3, Cable Box, and HTPC all connected to it and only the power cable and one HDMI cable go to the TV on the wall so its very clean. The 820 is priced about $350.00 US and the speakers were purchased a few years ago for about $300.00 US. The thing about many of the all in one suystems is they do not upgrade well and are very limited on the # of inputs for adding equipment. It may cost a little more in the short term but in the long run you will find it is cheaper to upgrade orif you move to set up for the new location. I hope this help good luck email me if you like I would be glad to help.

I understand the price bit. If you only have one you can add an HDMI switcher. I used one from monoprice.com it came with 5 inputs and small remote control for selecting which one you wanted. It ran about 30.00$ USD but it worked well till I upgraded my reciever.
